What about Erin?
I think I’m a good writer because, as a child, I read all the time.
I passed entire summer days curled in an armchair, nose buried in a book.
Then I started to write, and people took notice.
A speech I wrote was selected for my high school commencement. As I looked out over my classmates and their families during my address, I thought, “My words brought me here.”
And my words have been taking me places since.
In college, I chose a major — journalism — that allowed me to apply my love of language in a practical way. (I’m a very practical person.)
I found success in my field following graduation. I added designing and editing to my repertoire.
I learned how visuals complement stories, drawing in readers and guiding them through a package. I learned how masterful editors make every word count.
With each position, I became a more efficient and thoughtful communicator.
I am excited to see where words take me next.
